HTTP 2016
On 10th September 2016, Himti or Information Technology Student Committe held an event named HTTP. It stands for Himti Togethernes and Top Peformances, an event to welcome freshmen of Binus University or can be called as Binusian 2020 from School Of Computer Science (SOCS). This is an annual event which has been going on for 15 years, first held on 2001. This year, HTTP was hold in BPPT Auditorium, which is located at MH. Thamrin street. HTTP is attended by students from varieties of major, such as Information Technology, Game Application Technology, Mobile Application Technology, Cyber Security, Master Track Information Technology, Information Technology Global Class.
Freshmen from SOCS Faculty should attend HTTP event, because it will make them meet other students from different major, and students can also see many good performances from guest stars, they could also get HIMTI Kit which is software that can be use for their studies in Binus University. HTTP 2016 is a GSLC or Guided Self Learning Class, which is a class where students get an assignment from their lecturer but via online, so students must attend it in order to know or do the assignment. This article will talk about activities which is happened in HTTP 2016.
HTTP started from 9 am in the morning on Saturday, 10th September. Binusian 2020 were gather at Binus University Anggrek Campus, they came there 30 minutes earlier before they went to BPPT Auditorium. Students went there by bus, the bus was separated into two (2) shifts. The first shift, depatured at 6:30 am, students who arrive at BPPT Auditorium were check their name by registered their NIM, then they looked around the application and game software expo or it could be called IT showcase, it consist of game and application which is created by senior students of SOCS. Before the main event start, Binusian 2020 went inside to the main auditorium and had a refreshing from long trip to get to BPPT Auditorium by watching a film.
After the arrival of the second shift buses, the main event begun. It was begin by introduction of the mc and a video about the mc. After the opening by mc, Binusian 2020 were given a speech by HTTP 2016 Chief Coordinator, about how greatful to create a big event like HTTP and his greeted to the freshmen of Binus University. Then a speech from the Leader of HIMTI Binus Kemanggisan and Binus Alam Sutera, they gave a motivational speech to motivates freshmen in their studies and life. Next agenda was speech from the Dean of School of Computer Science, Fredy Purnomo S. Kom M. Kom., and other staff member of SOCS. Later, Binusian 2020 watched a video about speech from Vice Rector Student Affairs and Community Development, Drs. Andreas Chang, MBA. The speech was about how we should act in university and keep good attitude when study.
Next agenda after the speech was game and music performance, the game was chain words game, where the player must pronounce correctly other player words and add another one or they will lost. Then, all of the HTTP participants had a breaktime for lunch and pray. At 12:30 pm noon, the event starts again. It begun by a talkshow which the interviewees were Binus Alumni from SOCS faculty. They talked about how they study and the bittersweet of their lives, they also motivated Binusian 2020, so they will be confidence and motivated to do something in their lifes. After talkshow, Binusian 2020 were gave a visualization, it was kind of a theater show with movement which describe the dialogue but the actors were not talking, because the dialogue already recorded.
In the afternoon, exactly at 15:00 pm, the event had break time. The particicpants were buying snacks and had some stretching because sat down for almost more than an hour. At 16.00 pm, the event started again and it was the final show. Before closing section, Binusian 2020 of SOCS had ceremony for joining as part of the HIMTI family, by put their almamater jacket then sang HIMTI Anthem. The final agenda was performance from a group of dancers, and band peformance. But the most waited performances by Binusian 2020 of SOCS was DJ peformances, it was last for more than 30 minutes and it really made the participants excited and happy. HTTP ended at 18:10 pm, the committee gave goodie bag to all participants, then all of them went back to Binus University Anggrek Campus.
From HTTP 2016, many freshmen of Binus University felt happy, because they met and created new friends from other major, the event was not that bad at all, it was excited and could boost Binusian 2020 mood to study harder in their university, also they would be motivated to join organization such as HIMTI itself, in order to generate their soft skills.
